Cognizant Salary Hike: ‘No Delay On Merit Cycle’, IT Firm To Roll Out Increment In August, Bonus In Mid-March

Last Updated:

‘There has been no delay in the merit cycle, and any claims to the contrary are incorrect,’ says Cognizant on reports of salary hike delay.

Cognizant says with the August 2025 cycle, the majority of our associates will have received five merit increases within the past four years.

Cognizant Salary Hike 2025: IT major Cognizant on Tuesday said the company has not delayed the salary hikes this year and that it will roll out wage increments in the month of August as it did last year. The clarification comes after reports claimed that the company has postponed its salary hikes.

“As part of this ongoing commitment, merit increases for eligible associates will be awarded in August, exactly one year after the prior cycle. In fact, with the August 2025 cycle, the majority of our associates will have received five merit increases within the past four years. There has been no delay in the merit cycle, and any claims to the contrary are incorrect,” Cognizant said in a statement.

It said the company will pay bonus to eligible associates mid-March, ensuring that its talented teams are consistently recognised for their contributions.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to recognising the hard work and dedication of our associates through merit increases and bonuses,” it added.

Infosys, TCS Salary Hikes

After witnessing a boom during the COVID-19 pandemic, the IT sector is now facing headwinds amid global uncertainties. According to reports, India’s largest IT services company TCS is set to roll out lower salary hikes this year between 4 per cent and 8 per cent, while the country’s second largest IT firm Infosys will also give increment between 5 per cent and 8 per cent.

The upcoming salary hike for TCS employees in the range of 4-8 per cent is the lowest in the past four years. TCS had rolled out a salary increment of 10.5 per cent in FY22, 6-9 per cent in FY23, and 7-9 per cent in FY24.

Infosys has also reportedly announced lower salary hikes between 5 per cent and 8 per cent this year, as compared with the past few years. However, exceptional performers are expected to receive a salary hike of 10-12 per cent this year.
